To the Editor:

The December 26th story in the Chronicle, "Wine country casualties," that detailed the hired killing of four Black Bears by the owners of the Aetna Springs Vineyard in Pope Valley, Napa County revealed the shameful practice of killing wildlife of some North Bay wineries and their owners. An internet real estate site is advertising this Aetna Springs Vineyard as currently for sale (10M). Perhaps the new owner of this winery can take a no-wildlife-killing pledge. Please leave the Black Bears, Wild Turkeys, Deer, Wild Pigs and Mountain Lions alone in your future grape-growing activities, otherwise, we will be boycotting your wines in the future.

Yours truly,

James K. Sayre
