Gray Davis is like the proverbial bad penny
To the Editor:
Gray Davis is like the proverbial bad penny: he keeps coming back. The Governor's latest bit of arrogance is to demand that the California State Supreme Court place his name on the list of possible replacement candidates in the coming October recall election. What an absurdity: we vote to recall Governor Gray Davis and then we would have the option of replacing him with "Gray Davis." The mind boggles... Is there no escape from electoral death-grip of this man?
The California Constitution clearly states that a Governor facing a recall election cannot be one of the replacement candidates. But mere laws and Constitutions don't stand in the way of the ego-maniacal Mr. Davis. The sooner that this clown is put out of office the better for all concerned. Even the porno king Larry Flynt would undoubtedly make a better Governor than the ever corrupt and ever arrogant Gray Davis. Bring on real democracy: let's vote.
Yours truly,
