Roasting raw peanuts

by James K. Sayre

If you are currently buying bagged pre-roasted peanuts at the grocery store, you might consider buying raw peanuts and roasting them yourself. You get the benefit of having them freshly roasted, instead of several weeks or several months old store-unfresh peanuts.

Recipe:

fill two flat cookie baking pans with raw peanuts in the shell.

put pans in oven

set oven temperature to about 350 F. Roast for 15 - 20 minutes.

remove, cool and store the roasted peanuts in a sealed tin, if possible.

Goodness, how delicious, eating goober peas...

P. S. if you live in a climate with hot sunny summers, you can plant some of the raw peanuts (shelled) in the ground and in a few months, have a new crop of nuts.

End.
