In honor of our national corporate media sellout to the Bush gang, I hereby rename the corporate outlets with the right and proper Pravda and Investia additions to their names to point exactly how much they currently resemble the Russian corporate police state media of 1950 to 1980.

Jaundiced James' Parrot Rating System for US mass Media, with a focus on the San Francisco Bay Area, California:

"Awk, awk, Polly wants a semi-fascist state, awk, awk."

"Awk, awk, Polly loves the Republican-rigged 2004 Presidential election, awk, awk."

by James K. Sayre

Rating scale:

0 parrots = virtually no parroting of the Bush Adminstration's party line

1 parrot = some parroting of the Bush Adminstration's party line

2 parrots = significantly parroting of the Bush Administration's party line

3 parrots = mostly parroting of the Bush Administration's party line

4 parrots = virtually completely parroting of the Bush Administration's party line

Overview:

The corporate establishment media in the United States, lead by privately-owned cable television "news" stations, major newspapers and chains of radio stations have given the Bush Administration and its radical reactionary policies virtually a free ride from the summer of 2000 until the fall of 2003, when Governor Howard Dean, a candidate for the Democratic Party's nomination for President gained large support for his tough criticism of the Bush war on Iraq and of domestic Bush policy failures. Now with the very sore loser Bush having just stolen his second Presidential election, we are again faced with the Rip-van-Winkle What Me Worry corporate media being unable to investigate the particulars of just how Diebold voting machines gave Bush his "mandate."
