The Olympics are an interesting set of international athletic competitions which used to occur once every four years, with both the winter events and the summer events being held in the same year. More recently, the powers that be have rearranged this traditional schedule with a modern schedule which has the winter Olympics in the winter of 2002 and the summer Olympics in the summer of 2004.

Origin of the Olympic games

The ancient Greeks started their "Olympic" athletic contests near the base of Mt. Olympus in Greece more than two thousand years ago.

Modern Olympics:

Our modern Olympics have seen ultra-nationalism, racism, terrorism and cheating by illicit performance-enhancing steroid drug use besides some good competitions.
