Long term use of medicinal herbs

Some medicinal herbs should not be taken continuously over a long period of time. Some medicinal herbs will create a buildup of toxicity from continuous use. If a medicinal herb has been used to eliminate an ailment, it is probably best to discontinue use of the herb when the problem has disappeared. Some medicinal herbs are used as a form of preventive medicine and require a continuous intake. Information about potential problems for long term use of medicinal herbs has been included in each herb entry whenever available.
