The "GOP power grab" assertion of Governor Gray Davis is laughable.

To the Editor:

For Governor Gray Davis to assert in a recent speech given at UCLA in Los Angeles that the coming October 7th recall election is a "GOP power grab" is laughable. Here is a man that spent several million dollars interfering in the 2002 GOP primary election with attack ads against the moderate Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan so that he could run against the basically unelectable rightwing Bill Simon.

The recall election is a legitimate political tool. Almost two million registered voters in California signed the recall petitions.

The Davis Administrations are classic cases of political corruption. They take large campaign donations from special interest groups and then do favors for these same special interest groups. So long, Gray.

Actually, Governor Gray Davis and President George Bush are peas in a pod, both cut from the same whole cloth. They are both power mad and will say anything and do anything to stay in power. After Governor Gray Davis is recalled, Bush and Cheney are next on the list to be recalled. One down and two to go.

Yours truly,
