Avoid the West Nile virus-laden mosquitoes by adding Mosquito Fish to your backyard pond.
Recent news reports have suggested that mosquites carrying the West Nile virus are migrating into many U. S. states. Back yard pond owners can help slow the spread of this virus by eleminating mosquitoes from their ponds by adding some Mosquito Fish (Gambusia affinis). These Mosquito Fish make fast work of mosquito larvae and mosquito eggs. Mosquito Fish can be purchased from local pet or aquarium stores. They also can often be obtained free at county-run Mosquito Abatement District headquarters. See the 31 August 2003 story in the Contra Costa Times, Walnut Creek, California.
